Willows Animal Sanctuary

Willows Animal Sanctuary, was founded in 1998 and obtained charity status in 1999, and is the largest, ethically managed, equine, farm and domestic animal sanctuary in Scotland. We operate a strict no kill policy and only euthanise an animal on veterinary advice. We look after many animals including almost 100 horses, ponies and donkeys, approximately 70 cats, dogs and many small animals as well as over 100 farm animals and birds.

We are totally dependent on donations and legacies to keep the sanctuary running. We specialise in helping elderly or more vulnerable animals that have already been refused help by well-known large national charities, but we can only continue to help needy animals with your support.

Apart from getting to see hundreds of animals in their happy homes, there’s the Cat Hotel, the Nature Walk, the Donkey Barn, the Mindfulness area, Beastie House, Education room, Charity Shop, the Vegan Coffee Shop serving sandwiches, soup and cake, our gift shop selling lots of ethical and fair trade items, hundreds of second hand books for sale, a selection of vegan food and cheese available in our shop and of course, lots of cats waiting to greet you as you arrive!
